Nisyros with Nikia or Emborio

In addition to the Nysiros tour we visit either the picturesque mountain village of Nikia or Emborio. From the village you have a marvellous view towards the active volcano "Stephanos".

Nikia has a beautiful small town square with black/white mosaic stones and characteristic doors & knobs. Worth is visiting the impressive church of Eisodia tis Theotokou with her beautiful wall paintings and icons.

Of course we will also visit the sleeping Stefanos volcano where you can walk inside the crater and explore the caldera. A fantastic experience.

 

Before we go back to Kos you have free time in the capital town of Mandraki. Walk through the picturesque streets with the colourful doors and flowerpots , take pictures or visit the famous Monastery of Panagia Spiliani ,built in a rock.
